Flora and Ulysses, a fun fantasy story by Kate DiCamillo, talks about a superpowered squirrel named Ulysses who befriends a cynical girl named Flora. Flora is a girl whose parents are divorced and she loves adventure. All she wants is more attention from her mom and to make her new friend Ulysses a superhero (he’s a squirrel). The problem though is that Mom isn’t very happy to have a squirrel in her house. This makes Flora want to live with her dad, further complicating her relationship with her mom. Will Flora and her mom ever be happy together again with Ulysses by her side?
